Killing Kennedy
The End of Camelot

Author
Bill O'Reilly

I can say without any doubt that most people who were alive the day John F Kennedy was assassinated still remember it like it was just yesterday. As for me personally, I vividly remember exactly where I was and what I was doing the moment I first heard of this sad event. There are some people have gone as far as labelling it the 9/11 of that period in time. Over the years, I have had many opportunities to read different accounts of the events leading to the assassination. Although this book does not really reveal any new shocking information, it does a really good job at outlining the facts.
There is some pockets of information that I had not come across before in there. However, for the most part it presents those that are already common knowledge. This book covers as much as three years before the actual day of the shooting, following the actions of John F. Kennedy as well as those of Lee Harvey Oswald.
Who is Bill O' Reilly? He anchor's 'The O'Reilly Factor' on Fox News. It is rated as the top news show on cable in the United States. Bill also writes a syndicated newspaper column that is picked up by many newspapers nationwide.
As an author he has at least nine number-one bestselling books and has sold over 5 million copies worldwide. Bill O' Reilly? also speaks at many events across the country. He focuses mainly on his three favourite topics politics, the United States and celebrities. He is well known for always having an opinion on everything. Killing Kennedy is co-authored by Martin Dugard, another New York Times bestselling author. He specializes in writing about history and has many books under his belt too. I have to commend them on a great job as far as how they were able to intertwine the stories of four people so meticulously.
The book is mainly about John F Kennedy, but we also get some information on Martin Luther King, Lee Harvey Oswald and the First Lady of the United States. Bill O' Reilly? has the uncanny ability to effortlessly turn facts into an interesting novel. He did the same with his previous book 'Killing Lincoln'. He shys away from getting caught up with the many different conspiracy theories that surround the assassination.
Overall, Killing Kennedy is an interesting book to read. It is well written, in a fast and easy to read style. You can tell that a lot of time and effort was spent in research, as you read the facts laid out. Bill O' Reilly? portrays Kennedy and his family as ordinary human beings that we can all relate to. I can certainly see this book being added to the required reading list for history in high schools all across the country. You will not find any shocking never before released information, however it is still a very insightful book to read. It may even stir up some old emotions, especially if you are old enough to have lived through this event in our nation's history.
